Responsibilities
- Help prisoners build work skills in prison industry areas
- Support safe daily operations while meeting production and training goals
- Train and supervise prisoners in commercial and service industry work areas
- Maintain safe workplaces by following security, safety and operational procedures
- Monitor production, stock, records and equipment to support daily operations
- Coach prisoners to build practical skills and improve future employment opportunities
- Work with your team to improve processes, complete reports and meet production goals
Requirements
- A trade qualification or relevant experience in cabinet making, joinery, timber or metal fabrication is highly desirable
- A current forklift licence is preferred
- Experience working in a trade or industrial setting while meeting production target
- Knowledge of prison industry procedures or the ability to learn them quickly
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and safe work practices
- Strong teamwork, resilience and communication skills with a focus on continuous improvement
