Role details

  • Develop high-quality medical communications materials across formats including abstracts, posters, manuscripts, slide decks, and presentations
  • Prepare copy that meets company standards for grammar, scientific accuracy, and client objectives
  • Ensure assigned work is delivered within budget and according to promised deadlines
  • Liaise with clients and external thought leaders to support smooth project delivery
  • Interpret and incorporate internal and external review comments to maintain consistency, scientific accuracy, and industry compliance
  • Ensure relevant information is shared with both editorial and client services team members
  • Maintain awareness of therapeutic area, competitors, new products, and new indications for relevant accounts
  • Proactively discuss changes in project specification/deadline that impact project budgets and financial forecasts
  • Record and monitor actual versus budgeted time on own projects
  • Complete timesheets accurately and submit on time to line manager, relevant client services leads, and the finance department weekly
  • Keep abreast of industry self-regulation and compliance guidelines and client SOPs
  • Life sciences degree, ideally combined with a science master's or PhD
  • Strong and effective communication skills verbally and in writing
  • Good knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced agency environment
  • Ability and desire to learn new therapy areas and disease states as required
  • Proactive approach to sharing updates, status, ideas, and feedback with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
  • Proficiency in Adobe

Responsibilities include preparing copy for medical communication projects (grammar, scientific accuracy, client objectives), proactive budget/deadline delivery, liaising with clients/external thought leaders, interpreting and incorporating review comments, ensuring information sharing with editorial and client services teams, maintaining awareness of therapeutic area/competitors/new products/indications, discussing spec/deadline changes impacting budgets/forecasts, recording and monitoring actual vs budgeted time and submitting timesheets weekly, and staying current with industry self-regulation/compliance guidelines and client SOPs.
