Job Title: Australian English Language Expert Job Type: Contract Location: Remote In this role, you will apply expertise to help train next-generation AI systems by reviewing and correcting machine-generated English transcriptions for accuracy, recording yourself reading transcribed passages with a clear and natural Australian English accent, and evaluating/enhancing AI language data to reflect real-world Australian English usage and expressions. You will collaborate with the customer’s team to provide feedback and insights on transcription and audio guidelines, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail when reviewing text and audio for errors/inconsistencies, and maintain confidentiality while adhering to data security protocols throughout all processes. Required skills include native-level proficiency in Australian English (written and verbal), strong command of Australian English phonetics/diction/pronunciation, proficiency in transcript correction and spotting/amending inaccuracies quickly, excellent vocal clarity for recording audio, ability to work independently in a quiet, distraction-free environment, and exceptional attention to detail and commitment to linguistic quality. You should be able to use standard laptop audio recording tools (no professional studio equipment required). Preferred qualifications include background as an audio engineer/voice artist/voice actor/call center specialist with voice training, and experience with transcription/annotation/language data projects, plus strong written and verbal communication skills emphasizing clarity and accuracy.
