Responsibilities
- Provide care for children toddler through elementary school age in families' homes while parents work
- Engage children through play, reading, arts and crafts, and age-appropriate hands-on activities
- Communicate with parents and coworkers
- Handle common-sense clean-up of activities and meals with the child (no other household duties)
- Maintain safety and respond to situations calmly and effectively
Requirements
- At least 1 year of day-to-day childcare experience
- Available at least two days per week to work 6-9 hour shifts between 7am-7pm
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license to commute to assignments
- Can provide 3 references: 2 related to working with children (paid or unpaid) and 1 character reference
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to lift 35 pounds safely
- Ability to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day
- Ability to react quickly to certain situations
- Able to respond to emergent situations calmly, effectively, and safely
- Must be able to engage in an active, kid-centric environment including clean up and outdoor play when weather permits

Compensation: Hourly wage: $20-25 per hour. Overtime wage: $30-37.50 per hour. Have you worked as a babysitter, daycare worker, nanny, or church nursery volunteer? Are you a retired teacher or teaching professional who is seeking a small environment rather than a classroom? Are you known as the family’s favorite auntie? If this sounds like you, we welcome you to our babysitter team. You’ll provide care for children toddler – elementary school age while their parents work, so most assignments are Monday – Friday during traditional working hours. Several positions are now available in Fall City, ranging from 20 – 40+ hours per week. About you: - You genuinely enjoy children and are an engaging, creative, child-focused individual willing to have fun, play, read, do arts and crafts, and similar activities in families' homes. - You value communication with parents and coworkers. - You’re available at least two days per week to work 6 - 9 hour shifts between 7am - 7pm. - You have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license to commute to assignments. - You bring at least 1 year of day-to-day childcare experience. - You can provide 3 references: 2 related to working with children (paid or unpaid) and 1 character reference. - You’re at least 18 years of age or older. - Reliability is important to you and families can depend on you. Here’s what you can expect: - You’ll care for children in their homes. - You will never be required to drive/transport children. - Your only household duties will be common sense clean-up of your activities and meals with the child; no other household duties. - Care is for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and early elementary ages (highest demand for care for children under the age of 2). - Variety by providing safety and leading hands-on activities based on observations of children’s age-appropriate development. Work Conditions and Requirements: - Work environment will be active, kid-centric and includes clean up of activities. - Part of each day may be spent outside, weather permitting, and will be active play. Essential Physical Requirements: - Regular lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, and pushing. - Must be able to lift 35 pounds safely. - Must be able to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day. - Must be able to react quickly to certain situations. - May need to react to emergent situations in a calm, effective and safe manner.
