We are hiring a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Mid- to Senior-level Software Engineer working on our cloud systems. You’ll be a cloud software engineer building batteries: giant, distributed, energy storage systems (Virtual Batteries) made up of everyday things like home heating and cooling systems, water heaters and residential electric vehicle chargers. A clean energy future needs energy storage systems of this size and ours are the most flexible, scalable, and privacy-focused distributed energy resource management systems around. This is a fullstack position with primarily Node.js on the backend and React on the front end. You'd be joining a small team as an early contributor with the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including: 1. Management of tens of thousands of IoT-enabled Distributed Energy Resources (DERs: think EVs, solar panels, smart thermostats) with our IoT platform 2. Realtime optimization of fleets of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs: EVs, solar panels, smart thermostats), bringing flexibility to energy demand to match the variability of renewable energy supply, to minimize costs to the electricity grid, and do energy arbitrage on wholesale electricity markets 3. Enabling short term operational and long term strategic analysis and optimization of electricity networks with our GridSolver product
